From New York to Atlanta to LA and back to Chicago, Joshua Torrez has been making waves. He is excited to share this next chapter of his life and career back in his home, the Chi.
“It feels good to be back home and to finally be releasing this track and getting it out to the world. I just want the people to dance!” Joshua replied when asked his feeling surrounding the release of his new single ‘Wind it Up’.
Having spent the last two years in Atlanta, Joshua says the city definitely influenced the song with it’s notorious strip club scene. However, he states that the song is about more than simply winding and grinding. To him, the song ultimately is an ode to woman. The message behind the song is to encourage women to embody their expressiveness, allowing it to take them to the unknown without judgement.
“I’d be a lie if I said Atlanta’s strip club culture and this twerking generation didn’t have some influence on the track, however I still value what’s sexy and sophisticated while believing there’s a time and a place for everything. I am forever in awe of the grace, power, and beauty in women, and this song is a celebration of that.”
You can listen Joshua Torrez’s ‘Wind it Up’ January 18, 2019 on Spotify, YouTube, and Pandora.

Wind it Up Lyrics
Verse 1
Don’t pass me
You lookin’
So classy
I’m askin’
One dance miss
I’ll take you
To pure bliss
The surest
With courage I do encourage
To move your body, don’t be discouraged
Right to left, them hips are no burden
The way we grind you think that we hurtin’
It’s been a long week
I need unwindin’
Through your windin’
It’s perfect timin’
Our bodies rhymin’
To this rhythm
Giving you everything you’ve been missin’
Green-light you have full permission
To do what it is you’ve been wishin’
Making you sweat that’s my only mission
And what we do that is our own business
Hook
So wind it up
And then wind it down
Then go chop it up
As you drop it down
So now wind it up
And then wind it down
Then go chop it up
As you drop it down
Verse 2
I’m feelin’ limey
I’m feelin’ wavy
With those hips, girl you could have my baby
I’m only sayin’
I’m only praisin’
Us together, our vibration’s raisin’
Cause you amazin’
You hot and blazin’
Don’t keep us waitin’
No need for chasin’
Feline so fine no lyin’
By the end of the night I’m gonna make you mind

Bridge
(Oooooooooowooooooaaaaaahhhhh)
I never seen no one quite like this
(Oooooooooowooooooaaaaaahhhhh)
Come on mama, go and work those hips
(Oooooooooowooooooaaaaaahhhhh)
Truth that angels do exist
(Oooooooooowooooooaaaaaahhhhh)
Bring ‘em over, let me taste those lips
